Our Teachers
Our 3 year-old Teacher – Margie Woodman.
Margie joined Edgemont Preschool in the fall of 2009 as our 3 year old teacher. Margie is a qualified early childhood educator, with certification as a Child Development Supervisor. She brings over 20 years of experience with her. Margie believes in a ‘life long learning’ philosophy. She demonstrates this herself with ongoing course development. Margie’s goal in the classroom is to facilitate the learning process and instil a love of learning in the children. Margie ensures children experience the delight and sense of success that daily learning provides by working directly with them, as a partner in seeking answers to questions. She believes that every day spent with pre-school children is a privilege and a pleasure, and that their honesty, their acceptance of others and their ability and desire to learn new things is what inspires her to teach.
Our 4 year-old Teacher – Rachel Braun.
We are thrilled to have Rachel return to the Edgemont Preschool. Rachel is also a qualified early childhood educator with certification as a Child Development Supervisor. She brings over 7 years of experience with her, 5 years of which, have previously been at the Edgemont Preschool. Rachel is a lovely and caring teacher and has a wonderful soft touch with the kiddies. This is demonstrated in the relationships she builds with the children. Through creativity Rachel facilitates the learning process. Rachel creates a magical classroom full of learning opportunities.
Our 3 year-old & 4 year-old Teaching Assistant – Amy Reed.
We would like to welcome Amy to the Edgemont Preschool. Amy has had 2 of her own children previously in the Edgemont School. Amy is also qualified as an Early Childhood Educator. For the past two years, Amy has worked as a Teacher Assistant in a kindergarten classroom. Previous to this, she ran a private day home for 4 years. We believe that Amy’s skills, experience and love for children will be a great asset in our preschool classroom.
